How to Live by Faith?

Living by Faith: Salvation is the Root

Faith is the essential ingredient for Salvation and the Christian life that follows Salvation. The Bible says that the righteous will live by faith.

We are made righteous before God by faith in Jesus, not by our works. It is faith in the work of Christ that can set a man free.

If the foundation of Faith is not correct, the whole building collapses. Some people believe that they need to do good works to enter into Heaven. They misinterpret the Biblical truths on justification and sanctification.

Salvation(from Hell) is the root, sanctification is the fruit. It is God who changes His children's hearts and desires, making them fruitful for His kingdom. He chastens them when they go wrong. But, those who believe that they can earn Eternal Salvation by their own good works are deceived or un-saved.

Romans 10:17 - So then faith [cometh] by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

Ephesians 2:8-9 - For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: [it is] the gift of God:

Romans 1:17 - For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.

Living by Faith: Choosing Truth over Feelings and Emotions

Biblical Faith is not just wishful thinking or positive thinking. Christians are called to walk by Faith and Truth of God's Word, not based on Feelings and Emotions which are deceptive. Read Jeremiah 17:9 9.

The World encourages us to go by what Heart says and Follow the Feelings, while the Bible provides Wisdom in all matters, not excluding the deceitfulness of the heart and fading feelings.

Feelings and Emotions are often mightily used by the Devil to drift you from doing what God wants you to do. When your feelings do not align with God's Unchanging Word, do not go with it at any cost.

Feelings should never dictate your Actions, God's Word should. Read Psalm 119:105.

Anger is a feeling, but the action following it should be guided by Truth(Ephesians 4:26).

Fear can be an emotion, but the action following it is not. You may feel afraid, but you should not act based on that feeling. You should not be crippled by Fear but Walk in Faith.

Sometimes, we may even feel that God doesn't love us or care for us. When such feelings are brought by the Devil, we must stand by God's Truth that He loves you unconditionally. If I live by faith, I will not sin even when I feel that it is not a big deal.

Jeremiah 17:9 - The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?

Proverbs 28:26 - He that trusteth in his own heart is a fool: but whoso walketh wisely, he shall be delivered.

2 Corinthians 10:5 - Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;

Living by Faith as Citizens of Heaven

We are looking forward to the eternal life and the kingdom that the Lord has for us because we live by faith and not by sight. The Bible says, "the righteous shall live by faith", meaning, all who are saved and belong to the family of God will and should live by faith in God during this pilgrim journey on earth. As you grow in the knowledge of God, your faith should increase.

Faith motivates you to act and live for God. All our actions and attitude should be driven by our faith in the Almighty God.

2 Corinthians 5:7 - For we walk by faith, not by sight:
