The Lordship of Jesus Christ: Is Jesus your Lord or only a Savior?

the-lordship-of-jesus-christ

Most people do not have a problem accepting Jesus Christ as their "Savior", to be free from their sin debts and to spend eternity in Heaven. However, they do not want Him to be the "Lord" of their life.

They do not want Jesus to take control of every area of their lives and allow Him to fulfil His plan for their lives. They want to make their own decisions and do life on their own. Nothing can be more foolish than this.

Who can make wiser decisions? Is it you or Jesus?

Who knows you better? Is it you or the one who knit you in your mother's womb?

Who cares enough for you than the holy one who came down from Heaven and died for you?

Who sees the end from the very beginning?

How great are you when compared to the great and mighty God who created you?

If you are wise, you will want to surrender every detail of your life and place it under the Lordship of Jesus Christ.

If you want the Lordship of Jesus Christ in your life, you must do the following.

  1. You should consult God before making any decision.
  2. You must willingly give Jesus the authority over every single area of your life.
  3. You should seek His help to wisely steward all the resources He has given you.
  4. You must learn to hold on to the things of this world loosely and cling to Jesus tightly.

And the reward for surrendering to the Lordship of Jesus Christ is far greater than any worldly pleasure or wealth you can ever imagine.

Serving Jesus faithfully will give you abundant peace and joy on earth, which doesn’t change according to circumstances. There are also great rewards in heaven for those who serve Him in truth.

Matthew 8:9

For I am a man under authority, having soldiers under me: and I say to this man, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it.
