Doing Things That Matter

Many of us do not fail by doing bad things but by not doing good things that really matter. Everyday we do many things that are not inherently bad in itself, but are of little or no value. These unimportant activities consume our hours, days and years, before we realize it.

Colossians 3:2: "Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth." (Having an Eternal perspective).

Here are some tips to do things that really matter.

1) Create a Prayerful Plan:

The Bible says that without a prayerful plan people perish. If we don't plan to use our time effectively, the devil will try to make the most of our time.

Ephesians 5:17 KJV "Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is".

2) Write the Vision:

We all have God-given goals to achieve. We are called to complete the work that God has ordained for us to do. Our eternal rewards will be based on what we do here on earth with the time given to us.

Writing your goals and tracking your progress is a good way to move forward towards your God-ordained destiny and blessings.

Proverbs 16:3 KJV "Commit thy works unto the LORD, and thy thoughts shall be established."

3) Review your Day:

At the end of everyday, review how you have spent your time and energy. Look for unwanted time-waters like vain chats, not so useful entertainment etc. and try removing them from your upcoming days.

Ephesians 5:16 Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.

James 4:17: "Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin."

1 Corinthians 15:58 "Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord."
